How the Free Logo Maker Works

The free LogoCraftory logo maker takes you from a name to a downloadable logo: choose a relevant direction, refine the composition, test it in context and export the right file. No subscription or visitor account is required.

01

Start with a name and the closest field

Enter a brand name of up to 32 characters on the homepage. Then choose Gaming, Food & Drink, Beauty, Fashion, Technology, Sports, Home or Creative. The selection controls which symbol family appears first; it does not lock the project. A café that also sells packaged products, for example, can compare Food & Drink with Creative before choosing a direction.

Use the real name

Letter count changes the balance. A layout that suits “NOVA” can feel crowded with a twenty-character name.

Skip the tagline at first

Establish a readable name and symbol before adding smaller text that may disappear on a phone.

Try a neighboring field

Industry filters organize the catalog; they do not define what your business is allowed to look like.

02

Compare structure before color

The gallery combines relevant symbols with six arrangements. Compare the silhouette and reading order first. A vertical mark gives the symbol more presence, while a horizontal mark usually fits a website header more easily. An emblem can work well as a badge but may become dense at small sizes.

StackedSymbol above the name. Useful when height is available.
HorizontalSymbol beside the name. Better for navigation bars and signs.
EmblemElements contained in a shape. Strong at medium sizes.

Repeated symbols in the gallery are deliberate layout comparisons. They are shared catalog components, so choosing one result does not make its source symbol exclusive.

03

Refine the selected design in the workspace

Selecting a card opens the editor with your starting name, symbol, font, layout and palette. The controls let you revise the name, add an optional tagline, filter symbols by category, choose another symbol, compare typography, switch among six layouts and select preset or custom colors.

ControlWhat it changesWhat to watch
TypographyThe character, width and weight of the nameThin details and long names at small size
SymbolThe visual idea associated with the brandGeneric meaning and similarity to existing marks
LayoutThe position and hierarchy of symbol and textWhether the shape fits its intended placement
PaletteText, symbol and preview background colorsContrast on the real background where it will appear
TaglineOptional supporting textReadability once the complete mark is reduced

The editor address includes the starting name and design selection. Avoid confidential information and review the URL before sharing it. Later adjustments made inside the workspace are not stored as a personal project.

04

Test the design where people will actually see it

The workspace shows the current logo on a light website header, a dark surface and a small profile preview. These checks expose problems that a large centered canvas can hide.

Website header

Check whether the name remains readable in a wide, shallow area beside navigation.

Dark surface

Confirm that the symbol and type do not disappear when the background changes.

Profile size

Look for thin lines, tiny taglines and long names that collapse inside a square or circle.

Five checks before using the logo

  1. Read the name at the smallest size you expect to use.
  2. Place the transparent file on both light and dark surfaces.
  3. Compare the wide header shape with the square profile shape.
  4. Search for similar names and marks in your intended field and market.
  5. Open the exported SVG in the software used for production.
05

Choose the file that matches the job

Transparent PNG

The editor produces a 1800 × 1200 pixel bitmap for common screen use, presentations and profiles.

Scalable SVG

Vector shapes stay sharp as they grow, making SVG useful for larger output and further editing.

Keep both files

There is no account archive. Save the exports and a record of the version you selected.

SVG text can use a substitute font on a computer that lacks the selected typeface. Inspect typography and spacing in the application used by your printer or production partner. The Logo Usage & Rights page explains the checks around shared components and commercial use.
